A Transit officer that demands fare production is enforcing Trimet POLICY. Trimet policy is not law. Period.

Walking away when a TriMet fare inspector asks to see your fare may technically be an option, but it comes with serious risk. When an inspector checks your fare, you aren’t being detained in any legal sense — but if you walk away, a nearby law enforcement officer could see your flight as reasonable suspicion to stop, cite or even arrest you.

Simply put, it’s not worth it.

Last year in our district, we’ve had record levels of attacks on transit workers and the district has done nothing but put Band-Aids on gaping wounds and in some cases done nothing at all.

Nationally, assaults have soared in recent years, without any real action to stem the problem other than grand-standing, cheap alternatives, and pacification of transit workers while the numbers have steadily increased.

Trimet management contInues abusing operators

I’ve written several posts regarding the brutality  of the American public transportation industrial complex. A complex owned and operated by a class of over paid aristocrats who really have no idea what it’s like to operate or ride transit on a daily basis.  I even get to the point where I think that transit management INTENTIONALLY creates a system that pits riders against drivers so as to focus public scorn away from the corrupted management. A executive management that reaps in obscene salaries and pensions and doles out billions in corporate welfare while letting riders rot waiting for buses and trains that never show up due to malfunctioning equipment. Management that throws unprepared operators out on the unfamiliar roadways to sink or swim on their own after a few weeks of ‘training’.

 The American public transportation model is a complete and Utter failure and needs to be reorganized. That will never happen  because American public transportation is a function of government and we all know who government serves.

Who's making money off the Trimet?

Is Trimet really in the process of change?

Mcfarlane slinked out the back door (to his tax funded six figure retirement) and three board members got "fired".  Some of the activist groups see these moves as evidence that things may be 'changing' at Trimet.

 Personally I'm not buying any of it.

 Obviously our masters are aware that Trimet has a public relations problem. 

Trimet officials knew they couldn't get the citizens to open their wallets. 

 It was so bad they turned the whole thing over to Metro hoping that they can coax the citizens into ponying up their hard earned cash for that horrible southwest corridor project. 

The masters have plowed 100's of millions of payroll tax dollars on that damn project, they don't need voters approval for that.

 Any citizen capable of rational independent thought knows that all of these Trimet capital projects serve the elites that are involved in the projects. 

 From the planners, engineers, construction contractors, managers, coordinators  etc etc on and on.  This project will do nothing to help the citizens anymore than that  Division gentrification project will. 
 Meanwhile Trimet on the ground services continue to struggle

The "leadership" has basically remained the same at Trimet.  
Kelsey is Mcfarlanes hand picked successor and Bruce Warner remains the president of that sock puppet board. 
None of the three new board members know anything about transit from what I've seen.  

Our 'masters' are experts at fooling us. 

All they want is our money.

Government today serves only the interests of the elites, you see it at all levels.
