I CAN'T BELIEVE I GOTTA DRIVE A 67 TOMORROW
I can’t believe I actually have to go DRIVE A BUS tomorrow!
WOW, I REALLY do not want to go! My 'career' at Trimet ended on that last weekday 67. That's when I stepped out of the routine, for good.
People were saying “oh Al, you know you will miss it here”!
NO! I do not miss it there, at all to be honest.
I just lost all desire to drive a bus at Trimet , not really sure why.
I am pretty sure it has to do with my CIVIL RIGHTS being under constant attack as an employee of Trimet.
Questions for Erik re: TriMet budget
The following essay by Jason Mchuff is part of an ongoing 'feud' between himself and Erik Halstead
These are regarding his comments on TriMet working to keep service high, cuts low:
TOP STORIES
COMMENTS-FROM SOMEONE WHO KNOWS
1. Read the entire Ballard case; It's called doing the right thing.
2. Know what questions to ask. Info to Joe Rose was manipulated in the Oregonian article. Fact: the 20-year HR Director, "retired" Thus, the new Exec HR Director posts for two new "HR Business Partners", in which one position he hopes to hire in-house..Savings? None. From one position to two, plus new Exec. Ends up being one position for three positions.
3. Don't forget the TriMet Workforce Development Dept..this is three current positions. This group already does what the new "HR Business Partner" positions were described as doing.
4. Hiring Stedman, Saporta, and now Trimble. It's going backwards. These types of actions are a well known indicator that management is either floundering or hunkering down. Perhaps lacking skills.
5. Removing Lerbach. This was a loss for the entire agency and every public citizen.
After watching citizens speak at the recent public meetings, reading about Pete Taylor, and then reading Neil's comments to Opal in the Tribune, I no longer view it as a learning curve for the new management group.
It is devastating to watch.

TRIMET IS GIVING AWAY WES SERVICE
Trimet loves to brag about it's WES service. The fact of the matter is that they are giving it away at $2.30 a ride and still the train has empty seats.

JOHN CHARLES PAINTS THE PICTURE
I know John Charles is rabid anti union blah blah blah.
But I think that he, very pointedly, illustrates the EXACT nature of the problem and he hits the nail on the head insofar as what I have been babbling about since this mess started.
Trimet management wants everybody to give, EXCEPT THE THINGS THEY WANT!
They haven't stop construction, which will create further funding problems down the line.
The haven't stopped issuing debt in the form of bonds.
The executives haven't given a damn thing other than they have had no raise.
They like to compare their health coverage with our coverage, IT DOESN'T WORK! WHY?
BECAUSE THEY DON'T HAVE JOBS THAT KILL THEM!
It's apples to oranges.
Trimet is shoving the cuts down the riders throats and the employees throats.
If Portland is going to be different than anywhere, WE WANT JUSTICE!
EVERYBODY HAS TO GIVE, and the management at this company does not want to give a goddamn thing.
They just want everybody else to give. So far they have gotten away with it because they hold all the power.
But as Clackamas county has shown, there is a rebellion in the air.
YOUR DAYS ARE NUMBERED TRIMET EXECUTIVES!
Better take your fat pensions and get the hell out of dodge before the crowds come to Center St.
JOHN CHARLES HERE!
