LOOK-ITS A TRIMESS 'FACT CHECK'

I'm not going to bore readers with yet another   bogus Trimet "fact check" since we all know these so called 'fact checks' are nothing but Trimet propaganda in response to something in the media that made the oligarchs  look bad, but here are the highlights

WHY EMPLOYEES HATE TRIMET

This was my #1 complaint against those A-Holes!

BROKEN PROMISES AT TRIMET

Trimet executives continue robbing tax payers by handing themselves bonuses

If things were going wonderfully at Trimet I could possibly say that these executives/managers could be considered for bonuses.
But the fact of the matter is that by every measure Trimet executives have been failing at their jobs.
Ridership in Portland has fallen while it has risen in other parts of the country.
On time performance is horrible.
Employees are not working happy and management is focused on taking away their decent health care

And yet these white collar criminals think they deserve a raise. What they are doing is taking the money while they can.

Despicable behavior, exactly what we can expect from Mcfarlane and his cast of cronies
Fetsch later said that because Trimet executives love working so much at Trimet that they didn't bother to take their vacations. Ya right, and we have a bridge to sell ya.
And this is yet another example of the caste system which Trimet employees live with.
The upper class are the non union employees who get to cash out vacation while
union employees are forced to take their vacations

Who's the one spinning lies around here?

From Patrick Stanley s blogThe people in the meeting had the understanding that you, Lane, and all other bloggers were conspiring to spin lies to deceive the public.

My response
Dianne Goodwin-Liar Liar your pants are on fire

Patrick Stanleys post on the Trimet CAD system

Reads a little too much like TRIMET wrote it for my taste but there is good factual information there

Fascinating interview with Ron Heinztman

Sounds like another Trimet employee has been assaulted

More from Trimet bus driver appreciation day

Want to ride an old bus? Head towards Mt Hood!

According to the Sandy Post article Mt. Hood Express offers worry-free trip up mountain, the buses were donated by RVTD in southern Oregon and will be replaced with new ones, designed to handle bikes and skis, purchased with Federal public lands access funding.

A Trimet driver writes

Problems with the 31 and 30 buses.

1. Un-level floor. slope at the front and rear door. as the bus age the ramp starts to separate and bow up, causing a trip hazard for ADA.
2. front area of the bus to the back door has widened. 90 percent of the passengers use the front door. they don't wait until the bus stops they play Tarzan to get to the front door. refer to point number one.
3. back of the bus passenger area has grown smaller and harder to get to the back, thus weight discrimination.
4.  by the fire extinguisher there is a vision barrier if a passenger is standing there.
5. when the buses of the back door will not open immediately when you push on it. thus the possibility of a rider getting caught in the door is high.
6. drivers seat is injury prone causing right hip injuries.
7. drivers cabin is height discriminatory, if you are below 5'6 you will have problems with vision barriers from the left side and the right side. Auto announcement will not help if a operator can not see.
8. operator wheel too big. One cannot reach the dashboard, if it is raining you have to pull over to turn on the windshield wipers.
9. operator window too small, hard to turn the mirror when window will not open all the way. height discrimination, and possible left shoulder injuries and “drivers neck"
10. light indicator separated from dashboard. operator has to take eyes off road to look up.
11. Left turn mirror blocks view. crosswalk is partially blocked from view. also height discrimination. causes “drivers neck"

So much for the Tigard vote

In sum: the City can send out the mandated letters each year, but then they can send out other letters too, stating that they, personally, welcome their Tri-Met overlords. And as for those land-use regulations and stuff that those pesky plebians want to vote on, well, once Metro, Portland, and Tri-Met decide to ram lines through the area, the City can simply apply their existing regulations to the project.
And the City Council has the power to "interpret" the recently-passed ballot measure; giving them added leeway.

Trimet execs always find the money for the things they want

From the Drivers side

Of Bicycles, Beware. I could write an entire book chapter on this. Just in case you weren't aware, they own the road. They can do the stupidest thing imaginable, and they'd still blame it on the bus driver. Of course they consider themselves above the law as well. That yield light applies to all vehicles on the road, and yes, a bicycle is considered a vehicle. You'd think they might be extremely cautious around a bus, but they're also invincible (not to mention invisible) and seem to think they have this shield around them that protects them, even from their own idiocy.

This is definitely not funny anymore

Public transit ridership 'record' levels deceptive

Transit users took 10.65 billion trips in 2013, topping the previous record of 10.59 billion trips in 2008. These numbers were widely reported in the media, including in The Post, often with commentary suggesting a fundamental change in American travel behavior: a nation moving away from driving and toward more efficient and sustainable public transit.
But the association’s numbers are deceptive, and this interpretation is wrong. We are strong supporters of public transportation, but misguided optimism about transit’s resurgence helps neither transit users nor the larger traveling public. Transit trips did rise between 2008 and 2013. But so did the U.S. population, from 304 million to 316 million , as did the total number of trips made. Simple division suggests that, if anything, transit use fell between 2008 and 2013, from about 35 trips per person annually to 34. Many numbers look impressive without denominators, but anyone who examines transit use as a rate — whether as trips per person or share of total travel — will find that transit is a small and stagnant part of the transportation system.
Transit receives about 20 percent of U.S. surface transportation funding but accounts for 2 percent to 3 percent of all U.S. passenger trips and 2 percent to 3 percent of all U.S. passenger miles.
