Trimet is a leader in manufacturing consent

"Leaders will decide" More like career technocrats will decide
One of the most fascinating aspects  of Trimet is the masterful way they (and their so called "partners" who are other governmental units)  manufacture consent for all their various projects.

We know that the so called "light rail mafia" is scrambling right now to find sustenance to keep itself alive. Trimet has this huge capital projects department filled with dozens of pork jobs and basically they are dreaming up projects right now.

The latest false propaganda is below

Right, most people want light rail, sure they do
In any event Trimet watchers are aware of what is happening right now. The Portland mafia can't stop building because they need that cash flow, so here they are pumping out false propaganda trying to influence the minds of the citizens. The problem with this is this:

IT WORKS!

Joe Rose leaving reporting

I knew that when Joe went to NY last year something was up. He left transit reporting when he got back from that trip and I found that VERY suspicious.

Lo and Behold I was right again. He's leaving the scene totally.

I go way back with this guy and have to say that I will miss him around here!

The Bruce Hansen contract

You can see the entire "deal" here.

It appears the Bob Foster is Bruce Hansen's campaign manager

Bruce's strength is the Merlo crowd, most of whom have disavowed me for not supporting Bruce last time around.

Bob seems to be running his campaign this time around. Bob still talks to me and has said of me:

"Al has an axe to grind and he grinds it very well". That was great! One for my ongoing collection.

But sorry Bob, Bruce didn't lose my support because I have an axe to grind against him,he lost my support for selling out the retirees In the last contract

We know one thing about Bruce for sure:

he is the choice of Neil Mcfarlane&associates

Joe Rose never admitted it but he knew the truth

Where's the Trimet 'fact check'?

Normally when some very unflattering news comes out about Portland's beloved transit agency, Trimet issues a 'fact check' where they provide what they see as 'the facts' regarding the issue.

The chart below tells a story of Trimet not using the increased tax revenue for service to the public.

According to this chart tax revenue has increased by  88% since 2004.
Fare revenue has increased by 110%!
But total hours of service has declined by 1.3%

How is that excusable?

Where is Trimet using that extra money?
Who knows, my guess it goes to expanding Mcfarlane's personal empire of useless bureaucrats.

The jig us up Trimet, the public is not fooled any longer.
You can not control the information any longer.

Department of Labor ain't giving up its report on the investigation ofATU757

Here we have this federal agency doing an investigation of our local ATU, then ordering a new election. I thought it would be helpful to see the report, could be some interesting information in there

Nope, another agency that goes around affecting the lives of ordinary citizens without having to tell us how they came to the conclusion that we needed a new election.

Notice the BS verbiage on how they believe in transparency blah blah blah.  Where have we seen that before?

Trimet has a bus simulator

I wonder how much one of these goes for

Trimet tax grab analysis

Hint, when the CRC cabal supports a TriMet Bill beware.  Details below.

News Flash!!!!  TriMmet is not an advocate for road or freeway projects.

When TriMet thought no one was paying attention they submitted written testimony telling the truth about SB1510.

Elliot Njus says back door tax grab bills are dead

Doug Kelsey-fired from Translink-hired by Trimet-addresses the Trimet board

44% 'somewhat approve' of Trimet

Somewhat approve?
"Strongly approve" is only 1:4 people, not exactly a huge vote of confidence

Of course the mainstream media headlines are 72% of Portland residents approve of Trimet!
This is the typical BS we see coming out of Trimet with the mainstream media stooges reprinting whatever they are told to.
Ridiculous

Always suspicious of these so called polls.

It's definitely used for propaganda purposes to justify the huge salaries paid to unelected technocrats that run the transit system with zero public accountability.

This POLL is very general in nature and given the fact that the vast majority of the public is unfamiliar with the nuts and bolts issues surrounding Trimet operations the result is pretty
unrevealing.

What's not to like right?

It sucks less than many other transit districts in the USA I suppose.

However I bet if a poll was conducted with the following questions,

1-Do you think the Trimet board should be an elected position?
yes or no,
 The majority would vote yes

2-Do you think Trimet should continue expanding
yes or no
