Doug “The Desk “ legacy at TriMet will be remembered by the Rank & File for his insincerity as he spoke of and to the underlings he professed to care about their well being when it came to safety and their retirement benefits. Most of his proclamations came from safety of his home during many of the crises that faced the front line workers he said cared about. The lasting effects of numerous contactual “ take aways” will not only have profound effect on those mentioned in the contract but will effect the ridding public and the Portland community. The effect on the morale, that has never been lower, and still sinking ,of the Rank & File has great consequences that can’t be measured in dollars. This added to a management culture that is encouraged to
“Hang Them High” for workplace infractions that are not only at times a arbitrary but did not even occur. I am sure he feels that he has done a great job during his tenure at TriMet. The TriMet Board (bobble heads) Directors think so and have told him so in the tune of 5% raise, $15,000 just this past year. His departure leaves many more nails in the coffin of Local ATU 757 that he has done his best to make irreverent. His gold plated retirement package will be a great comfort to him and not a second thoughts about the Rank & File who still and will struggle to take care of themselves and their families. A legacy that unfortunately will remain in place at TriMet.( just side note; this a photoshop image.)
So it goes...Two Bells.
