RATIONAL OR HYSTERICAL?

God knows how much money and time has been spent on the new safety initiatives.
One person has an accident that hasn’t occurred here in the last 42 years.

One person!

Trimet has gone through its usual hysteria in response to this tragedy but this time they have spent millions of dollars and thousands of hours of staff time and will continue to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars and thousands of hours of staff time in response to the accident that one person had!

There had been no other accidents of this sort before the fateful event and there have been no other accidents since.
I seriously question the wisdom of all this new process and procedure because one person screwed up!
While the new procedures outlined by Shelly Lomax do have some good points, I personally think this organization has acted more out of blind hysteria than logical rational thought.
