 I know these career bureaucrats have to find things to do or else they won't have a job but this so called "redesign" of the bus system is coming from out the blue and I can't even figure out what the hell this is.

 They hid behind the myth of the "labor shortage" to obscure their actual goals, and that was to  CUT SERVICE and impose austerity on the citizens.

Trimet has a long history of lying to the public but hardly anyone knows this because nobody is paying attention

Its all been a lie from the very beginning as I pointed out when I heard that Idiot Venetta tell the county commission that they had hired Jarret Walker to redesign the system

 Again, a chuckle at how spoiled drivers are today. I know Trimet started using convex mirrors on the left side before we did in Seattle but I drove buses WITHOUT a supplemental convex mirror for more than 20 years as Seattle didn't start using them until the Gillig Phantom order in 1996/97. Before that, we never had a supplemental or convex mirror on the left side.

"I hate what kind of person this job is turning me into," a brother operator told me. Lately, I have turned into an asshole, someone I could not bear being around. It's eating me up, concurrently infuriating and depressing me. 

I was dealing with all the issues surrounding my confusing fury when our mental health provider told me I had used up my allotted benefits last year. It was befuddling that a company which encourages us to use our mental health benefits would set a limit on said sessions. It brought me to a full stop. No more speaking with a professional who had just begun to understand my psyche enough to explore avenues to guide me toward a better, happier ME. The positive path I had chosen ran into a hard dead end, and this increased my depression and amplified the PTSD. Instead of reaching out, I withdrew. It's a path many take, but its repercussions can be disastrous. My own path has been one even a 4WD could not traverse.

FX ISSUES BY A REDDIT AUTHOR

 Hello Everyone ! I would like to gain some opinions on the new FX line pertaining to my comments. I live near S.E. Division and I see many issues with the new FX line as it stands. Here they are in no particular order:

  1. Current ridership does not dictate longer buses, or fancier ones. They should of just left the existing ones alone and the current bus stops. They could of just retro-fitted the current buses with the ability to change the lights as they go through.

  2. The new bus stops have glass, which will be broken , spray painted and carved on. Why did they do that ?

  3. Trash can's ? why ? homeless will go through them, they will be full of trash and will be very unsanitary ! light on fire etc, why would they place trash cans ? Trash can's attract "flies".

  4. safety , each new stop will have homeless people flocking to them, what kind of safety protocols are in place to clean up the new stops?

  5. will they place more security officers in the new buses? their are quite a few criminals going from outer Gresham into downtown to sell drugs etc, how is trimet going to prevent their FX lines from being a cheap ride to do shady business ?

  6. how is the new line going to circumvent the train stopping traffic all ways around 11/12 and se division when it is parked there for over 50 minutes.

I feel the FX line was a bad idea and a windfall for the contractors only. What they should of done is offered more pay for the existing line drivers, increased security , changed the traffic lights with outfitting the existing buses, maybe added two or three new buses if they are concerned with the frequency.

Everyone will see this will be a total waste of millions of dollars, increased issues with too many buses flowing down little narrow division which is a neighborhood shopping street. They should have gone down Powell and cut in or another route !

FIRED FROM TRIMET-FOR BEING 'UNRELIABLE'

Kayla was used in TriMet’s hiring campaign. Now she represents the “real” TriMet. 


In the ultimate Irony TriMet is still firing operators for "time loss" which is the equivalent of being fired for being unreliable. 

It's ironic because the agency itself is totally unreliable and pity the poor riders who are stuck having to use the system. 

Once again we see how the policies that TriMet forces its operators to live with don't actually apply to the agency itself. 

Furthermore the executive/managerial class got to sit at home and draw their full paychecks for the last two years. 

TriMet is a failed transit system by design like all the other major transit districts.

 They are all nothing more than a money laundering machine for the elites of those cities just like every other government entity. 

 In the ultimate slap in the face to the citizens of the Portland area they continue to grow the bureaucracy at the same time the actual system is in total collapse. 

You won't ever hear any of this on mainstream media if you're still wasting your time reading/watching or listening to it.

THE TRIMET CRIME SYNDICATE

The Trimet crime syndicate was really on a roll of crushing riders in the 2010's: Killed fareless square, tore out excellent downtown bus stops and replaced them with anti-human designs, cut down the shade trees at Gateway, ended short hop fares (meaning increased basic fee to access public transit), eliminated paper transfers (making it harder for riders to share the fare), disabled electrical outlets at most MAX stations just as the Trimet App came out (you could get a ticket if you paid but your phone failed), HOP showed up and made it impossible to make last minute $ fare choices, HOP required more than a basic fare amount to operate (plus you had to have internet access and a smart phone), fare enforcement increased, Ghost Buses (pulling buses to bail out max, but failing to remove those runs from transit tracker, thus stranding bus riders I'm sure there's more. But taken as a whole, it was a decade of war on transit dependent and poor riders.

Let me add to this the part where the TriMet drivers lost their excellent health care and defined pensions. It was all part of the plan.
