TRIMET HAS THE 'RICHEST BENEFITS IN THE USA'-SOMETHING DOESN'T ADD UP

The following charts show that Trimet is no where near the most expensive transit system to operate. This proves management assertions that the union employees are causing the destruction of Trimet to be completely false.

THE BULLSHIT PILES UP HIGH AT TRIMET

For Immediate Release June 25, 2013

Perception Not Protection
Two TriMet operators had a close encounter of a terrifying kind while at work last Thursday afternoon. The operators were waiting at the 82nd and Powell bus stop. Operators consider this to be a particularly dangerous bus stop for their passengers and themselves.

LET'S VERIFY THE CLAIM THAT MY HEALTH COVERAGE HAS MORE THAN DOUBLED IN 10 YEARS

How did this happen

The contract was the same for all of these years yet the benefits as % of wages has more than doubled. Continued hiring and expansion has accounted for the the increase in expense categories but that doesn't explain the benefits as % of wages.  Is this all as a result of health care costs?  The health care costs are the only variable in the equation. The next question that would follow is why has Trimet not looked for alternatives to the blue cross plan if that is the major cost factor.

They're going to consider the bill tomorrow

It appears that they may not take testimony.  I may just e-mail Rep Gorsek myself.

NEILS BULLSHIT

Now brought to you by the friendly people at the Trimet public records department!

It’s that time of the year when schools across our region are letting out for summer. (Let’s hope we start to see the summer part!) (hahaha funny Neil) With all those kids out – it’s a
reminder not just for our professional staff of bus and rail operators – but for all of us to take a couple extra seconds when we’re driving to watch for any kids or
for that matter, more cyclists on the streets. Having had two little squirts (haha, Neil is getting funnier by the day ) at one time myself, I know that parents can easily be distracted and a little one might
wander off and into traffic.(a big one too)  That’s where that extra attention you can give comes in handy. I know I’m not alone when I have to remind myself to leave the phone
on the seat or turn the radio down a bit. (what stations do you listen to Neil?) I just know that we all want our little ones to come home safely. (don't forget the big ones Neil) So please, take care when you’re out there driving. And
of course, enjoy every moment our beautiful summers bring!
Neil (OK Neil)
