WHAT NEXT?

It turns out our union leadership has not been completely honest with us about the way we have all ended up in the current mess.

What was represented as a "sneak attack" by the current general manager of Trimet was in reality a plan that was in motion back in 2009 (documents here).

This still does not make the actions"right" or "just" on the part of the management, but we all are at least entitled to know the true facts regarding our situation.

Obviously this makes a picket at the general managers house somewhat absurd, since it was indeed Fred Hansen himself that informed Jon Hunt about the consequences of protracted negotiations.

It all makes perfect sense, Fred did indeed give Neil the mess while he took his millions, his self made fame and headed out of town to bask in his self made glory.

If we want to picket, it should be Fred's house not Neils. (Fred is not home of course!)

So what do we do next? I really don't have an answer but it seems that we find ourselves in an impossible situation currently.

We apparently can't trust our union leadership to give us the accurate information and obviously we can't put our faith in the management to see to our best interests.

Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in getting up every time we do.
