"First they ignore you. Then they laugh at you. Then they fight you. Then you win." ~Mahatma Gandhi
TriMet does have a great, easy-to-use website (for riders, only, I should add) compared to, say, King County Metro or LACMTA.That said, what's the point of an excellent website if the bus you need doesn't show up when you need it? The best form of transit advertising should be the transit system itself, not a flashy website. If people see the bus enough; see the bus stops; see information for transit at the bus stops - that in itself is proven to generate ridership. People aren't just going to stumble across www.trimet.org and decide to ride the bus; however someone who is already familiar with TriMet will find the website much more useful to plan a trip away from their neighborhood - just as I was able to easily plan a trip to Gresham yesterday when I rarely go to Gresham at all.
