Look at all those pedestrians having to walk across 82nd Avenue! Safety first at TriMet? Only when it involves rail...when it involves piss-poorly designed bus stops, YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN!
(This is backed up by the fact that when ODOT and PBOT finally decided to do something about it, TriMet didn't even bother to send a representative to the planning meetings - even though the whole problem exists SOLELY because of piss-poor planning on TriMet's part.)
Well, it's ODOT's right-of-way. And TriMet at one time wanted a signalized pedestrian crossing there, but ODOT refused, saying that drivers wouldn't expect a mid-block traffic signal.

IMO this is what they should have done for the 82nd ave MAX station -- not a wall.
