TriMet jeers study decrying light rail

A May 4 report by the Cascade Policy Institute says TriMet’s high-capacity alternatives, including MAX light rail, the Portland Streetcar and WES commuter rail, cannot move large numbers of people when needed.
Buses, which carry two-thirds of TriMet’s passengers, should be the focus of TriMet spending, but are being sacrificed in favor of light rail expansion, said Cascade President John A. Charles Jr., who conducted the research with several assistants.
