TRIMET NOT GIVING OUT WATER ANYMORE?
Trimet in the past always had a good supply of bottled water for drivers during heat waves. But not anymore I hear. WOW-THEY REALLY DON'T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT THEIR DRIVERS ANYMORE
They should at least have supplies of ice/ice water at various break rooms. Drivers should have their own reusable water bottles or Trimet could offer them (with trimet logo) to those who forgot or misplaced their own ones.
Why should it be your employer's responsibility to provide you with excessively expensive water in a plastic bottle? Anyone with a brain can figure out that bottled water, much of it just filtered tap water, is some of the most expensive water in the world. Why not carry your own bottle, preferably reusable, and fill it up prior to beginning your shift?
Part of the problem with the current union climate is the "entitlement" mentality and the desire to expect your employer to do everything for you. I suppose you will also want hot chocolate on cold days?
The American society is full of finger pointers and those that refuse to accept responsibility for themselves. Much of that mentality has been union driven.
Tri-Met's bus drivers are among the very highest paid in the country with the finest benefit package. All that costs the public. Try buying your own water if you want bottled water.

In the better days..we (management) always set up ice coolers and water jugs providing Operators, MOW, and even customers cold ice or water. In the winter..we always made urns of hot coffee to give to the chain crews in Maintenance and Operators because they were on shifts of 12 hours in the elements.
It was never considered an entitlement..it was the right thing to do for our employees. No one asked us to do it; again, it was the right thing to do.
In the BETTER DAYS, "Doing the right thing" was an easy exercise in reasonable judgement. Today, judging what the "right thing to do" is like looking through an prism of BS that comes at you from all angles.
I might not be working at Trimet anymore, but as should be obvious I am still part of Trimet!
I spent 15 years at Trimet. It was one of the most profound experiences of my life. It ended badly but I blame Mcfarlane for that and his bully boy philosophy in management.
I loved it at TRIMET and I hated it at TRIMET. It just depends on what period of time you want to study.

Just wait until they start tearing out water fountains near places where they're not used often enough.

Does this mean I don't get my token 8oz. (or whatever the measured amount is that allowed) when I am pulled in for a pee sniffing urin test?

DO ANY OF YOU RELIZE WE ARE IN A UNION BUSTING CLIMATE, ANY GOOD WILL WILL NOT BE DONE ON OUR BEHALF, GET USED TO IT.
Don't get "used to it." That is exactly what they are hoping for. Look at and consider actions like Al M's recent court filing...
Stand up.
