How symbolic, an actual sign of how much TriMet really wants to hear from you.

Me: "Yes, I'd like to talk to Fred Hansen. There's a sign of him on a MAX train asking me to tell him how he can help me."

TriMet Operator: "Let me transfer you to him."

And the result will be the exact same as when I tried to report a broken TVM a couple months ago. Endless looping of TriMet's IVR, but you never, ever get anywhere.

Erik I haven't called to report a down TVM, but I have called TriMet to report the machine eating my money, and it was very easy & they were very responsive. 503-238-RIDE, told them what happened and a few days later the credit came in the mail.

The call took maybe 5 minutes ?

I remember a Hispanic man who used to ride my 48 who lost $60 cash in one of those machines.
That was a huge sum of money to that man.
If I hadn't been the driver and walked him through the process he would have lost it all.
I wonder how many times that happens, people don't understand what to do so they lose whatever they put into it.

I bet its a lot more than ya think.

Sorry, MAX, I got no live human being, I got into IVR hell. Called 238-RIDE. Even recorded the call of my IVR looping hell. I finally e-mailed and got a response five days later.

Speaking of broken TVMs, that machine that is cash-only at Sunset TC still doesn't work. At least it doesn't have a ridiculous Windows error message on it anymore. I didn't bother reporting it this time.
