Benson said UTA found — by tracking
those who use electronic passes — that about 30 percent of the former
passengers who used express buses between Utah and Salt Lake counties
never made the switch to FrontRunner, and are now apparently driving
instead to save time or money.
Or both. Their "Frontrunner" train is kind of like TriMet's WES.
Again, when bus service gets cut and people find that their commute time
has just doubled (and increased in price), people tend to drive - or
find other methods of getting to where they need to go. Who wants to
spend four or more hours each day getting to work on transit, when they
can drive there in half an hour or less?Full post is HERE!
