What is the management really up to

Why does the management talk about cutting service by 70% in 14 years but continue to hire like there is no tomorrow? We know the managements answer to the unfunded liability (which they themselves intentionally created) is to eliminate the liability. And they want to do that retroactively. The end goal is to get rid of as much of the union benefits as they can get away with. In their cross hairs is any medical coverage for retirees that are not on medicare. They haven't said that but that is obviously their main goal.  . These are despicable careerists that think only of themselves don't forget. The people they hurt in the process are of no concern to them as long as they get their promotions and fat pensions.
And I have formulated what I consider a reasonable explanation for their excessive hiring spree

Maybe they need to raid their trust funds or split theirs with ours evenly. Won't happen but that would be fair.
