Kirk Reeves and Bill Porter never had a chance

Bill Porter
Kirk Reeves

You think the oligarchs would allow a bridge to be named after 'common' people? Hell no! Kirk Reeves and Bill Porter never were considered.
The whole process what a public relations stunt I bet they had decided on the name months ago.

The four finalists for the as-yet-unnamed Portland-Milwaukie Light Rail bridge are:
  • Wy'East (the Native American word for Mt. Hood).
  • Abigail Scott Duniway (famous leader in the Oregon women's suffrage movement).
  • Tillicum Crossing (Chinook for "people").
       *Cascadia.

TriMet explanation here and  here  ( the second link is hilarious it appears they are still playing public relations with this)

As long as she ain't the same Duniway as in Portland's Duniway Neighborhood.

Would be just like a bunch of Portland Elites to name a bridge, that will be used by a lot of poor people, after one of PDX's wealthiest 'hoods.

Shoulda been named after Kirk, ffs.

On the other hand, I don't see why naming it after a women's rights activist inspires such ire.
