At least it can be painted over or bulldozed later. Then the city fathers can wring their hands, tug at their hair and say "well, we did honor him once, didn't we?" as Kirk is mentioned never more, officially.
Why all the hype about Kirk Reeves? OK, so he was well known for wearing mickey-mouse ears and making people smile on the Hawthorne Bridge. Lots of people make others smile every day. I just don't get it.

A mural does not equal a bridge.
