Not sure why Trimet thought this was necessary
The shootings have nothing to do with Portland or Trimet so I really don't get why this was necessary.
My assumption is that Trimet thinks it will be good P.R.
If you scroll through the Twitter feed you'll see many citizens questioning the motivation also.
There is a further issue with this kind of symbology. There've been dozens of unarmed black men killed by the police and there's been no moments of silence for them. As soon as the police get killed the whole world stops. Some see this as a double standard including myself
