The "right to strike" was given away by the union leadership at the time without asking for members approval. It was supposed to preserve our benefits but as soon as Fred Hansen left as general manager Neil Mcfarlane decided he would not honor that deal. And the union and the operators benefits have been whittled down each contract since.
