TRIMET BULLSHIT-PART 3
Here at Metro, Ride Checks are done by uniformed supervisors, ADA checks are done by chiefs (person right below the person in charge of the base), who try to do it incognito, and dont have uniforms. All in all, our stuff is done by employees. Even that link I sent you some time ago about San Diego doing secret checks are at least employed by MTS, not a contract agency.
At TRIMET they have a whole department full of who knows how many Trainers!
This sort of evaluation should be done by our training department, not low paid workers for some profit making contractor!

The interesting thing about our fleet averaging over 12 years is that for a 40' bus, 12 years is considered the service life (linked article is very long, but interesting). Most 40' buses across a wide variety of agencies which were surveyed in that study (LA Transit Authority, MBTA, NYC Transit, Toronto Transit Commission, WMATA, Austin Metro, and several rural agencies) are retired around age 13, and about 9% are still in service at about 15 years. So the large proportion of old buses in our fleet is subs tandard compared with other transit agencies.

I don't know about the rest of the people working here, but I am convinced this company is consciously using the ADA as a way to torture the drivers here.

For the price they are paying these people they can buy 5,950 audio recording devices and end once and for all the disputes about weather we are calling the stops or not.

Automated bus stop announcement programs are sold for....your not going to believe this....

LEADERSHIP CRISIS AT ATU 757 FORCING JEFF ACKERSON TO RECONSIDER RUNNING
Union members are concerned about the leadership crisis happening at our union and have been asking Jeff to reconsider his decision not to run.
After further discussions with his wife Jeff has agreed to take on the job of running a campaign and if members want him as their VP he will work tirelessly on our behalf
Those of us that have worked with Jeff as union rep know this guy is smart, tough, and has the guts to take on a job like this.
It's time we get some effective leadership at our union local.
