The Trimet propaganda department is always looking for ways to make Trimet look good. But they forget that the internet is one place they can't control, and facebook is part of the internet. Too their credit they have so far tolerated free speech on their Facebook page, deleting only one comment that I know of. Of course I was involved in that deletion.  I try to leave them alone on their Facebook stuff, but I do enjoy reading the other comments.

WAR ON TRANSIT WORKERS

At noon on Tuesday, the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 192 gave the AC Transit Board of Directors notice of its intention to impose a labor strike involving 1,625 bus operators and mechanics. Although negotiations are continuing, it now appears that the ATU employees may refuse to work beginning at 12:01 AM, Wednesday, August 7, 2013.

 A work stoppage by the ATU will shutdown all AC Transit bus operations. This disruption would impact the 181,000 daily bus riders who travel in the East Bay or on to the Peninsula and San Francisco.

WAR ON TRANSIT WORKERS

I regret this strike action by staff at Dublin Bus. This action targets those who have no other alternative to public transport and exacerbates the financial position in Dublin Bus," the Minister said.
"I urge the trade unions to reconsider their position and call of this action. Both sides should do everything to agree the necessary savings in order to protect existing service levels.
"Public Transport should be run in the interests of the passengers who use it and the taxpayers who pay for it, and not in the interests of management or unions," the Minister continued.
"Negotiations have been on-going for over a year and recommendations have been made by the Labour Relations Commission and the Labour Court." (USUAL PROPAGANDA BUT IN IRELAND!)
