GAWD LUV EM!

The Trimet propaganda department is always looking for ways to make Trimet look good. But they forget that the internet is one place they can't control, and facebook is part of the internet. Too their credit they have so far tolerated free speech on their Facebook page, deleting only one comment that I know of. Of course I was involved in that deletion.  I try to leave them alone on their Facebook stuff, but I do enjoy reading the other comments.
THE TRIMET RIDERS CLUB comments below are posted on their page

  • Alex Hawk Here's some "rider news" for you, complete from a former rider who now drives a car.
TriMet has continuously expressed it's bias for MAX and complete lack of interest for bus service since Neil McFarlane became GM. Most of my transit friends from othe
r cities cannot believe TriMet keeps buses well past their useful life of 12 years old. You can reply with your BS of how you believe 15 to 16 years gets your monies worth but TriMet refuses to explain why they keep buses as old as 23 years still on the road.

While 1 in 3 buses are without AC, 100% of MAX trains have AC including their oldest Bombardier type 1 high floor trains that are nearly 30 years old. MAX riders are gifted with oversized shelters complete with transit tracker arrival signs at each stop, perfect lighting, and benches. Meanwhile, a little under half of TriMet bus stops either have poor accessibility, have zero amenities such as lighting, a bench or even a map of the route they are boarding. TriMet lies about delaying bus purchase due to the recession, while MAX green line and the failed WES commuter rail project which went $40 million over budget were both built during the recession. You had me as a rider, and now you lost me. I will never ride Trimet ever again for no more than hanging out with my operator friends who are getting the shaft because TriMet wastes money on stupid crap and then takes it out on the union. If it were up to me, TriMet management would be in jail.

Jay K Schimming Thank you! Not to mention hiring MORE Nazi fare inspector gestapo to ticket "fare evaders." They used to hand out warnings and then decided they needed to extort MORE money from the public by instituting a "no exceptions" policy for first time offenders, regardless of the circumstances. TriMet is a fascist monopoly.

Erik Halstead Instead of first to hear about "rider contests and promotions" how about "new buses", "improved bus stops", "new bus routes" and "wait less ride more - now more frequency"?
