TRIMET Board meeting part 4-rare disagreement

 The board votes NO on approving changes to the tax grab committee and the discussion about this goes on forever it seems

AND THE UNION SELLS OUT-AGAIN-AS THEY ALWAYS DO

This is interesting because this is the first time I can remember negotiations being held "in secret". Members where always informed that this was happening in the past. Secondly the proposed raise does not cover the rate of this years inflation which means you are actually getting paid less for doing more. As we now know this job has changed significantly from the days when I was doing it. It's significantly harder! Furthermore "the models" are consistently wrong when it comes to economic trends. I know the contract will be approved because it always is no matter what it says but be aware you are being screwed. "The company" is fucking you, and the union is going along with it, at least acknowledge it.

This wage increase does NOT keep up with inflation and next years increase is a total rip off-You must get an 8.5% increase this year and whatever the rate is next year which will definitely not be 4%

Yet ,TriMet thanks the heavens that they still have operators to blame. Going back to the major incident about 11 years ago of the MAX vs Hillsboro Fire truck. A complete by whitewash investigation by interested parties who had more than a dog in the fight for covering their rear ends due to incompetence. Unfortunately, to this very day this incident is mentioned in light rail training class with complete obsecration of the truth. This is just one incident of many that the responsibility of poor design decisions are put upon the shoulders of operators…the head has been guillotined with no qualms
