Holiday Service
When the west side is graced with buses from Center.
I saw plenty of 2100s going by my 4th of July celebration (in Aloha right off 185th).
Yes, it is rather strange. Going all the way back to the days of the 900s that you would NEVER dare see on the Westside...except on a holiday. Same with the 14s and 21s (except maybe on an odd chance you'd see one on the 20B), and when the 2000s were new. Merlo was always the home of the Flxible...surprised TriMet hasn't just assigned all the remaining Flxibles to Merlo like they've assigned all the Gilligs to Center.
Of course now that I live in Tigard, I see buses from all three garages, so about the only thing I won't see is a 16 or a 19, except on Sundays when the abbreviated Tigard-Multnomah Village 45 will run with a 19. For awhile the 17s and 18s were starting to become rare (except on the 45), but they're back in full force seeing regular assignments on the 45, 76, 78 and 94 (where I much prefer them to the 14s.)

At least they are air conditioned.
I wasn't complaining, just observing that BTC looked weird today!
I think there normally is a 5202--it would be on Line 152.
I'm curious if there's ever been a time when Center wouldn't have enough buses to run. I know in the past I've seen the 1400's out on a holiday.
If they're running on Sunday schedules, why not just do whatever TriMet usually does on Sunday?
They close the other two bus garages besides Center to, I'm assuming, allow station agents, managers, etc to have the day off.
