Bus assault suspect arrested

A man who police say beat and robbed a Capital Metro bus driver last week has been arrested.
Rickey Desean Walls, 31, has been charged with aggravated robbery by assault, a first-degree felony, according to an arrest affidavit.

Walls got into an argument with a bus driver June 10, the affidavit said.
When the bus stopped at Techni Center Drive just west of Ed Bluestein Boulevard in far East Austin, Walls assaulted the driver, police said, and tried to rob him. No one else was on the bus at the time.
The driver, who is in his late 40s, suffered injuries to his face but has been released from the hospital.
Walls is in the Travis County Jail on $100,000 bail.
In March 2010, Walls was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and assault with injury after police said he attacked several people downtown, including an off-duty Dallas police officer.
Under a plea bargain with prosecutors, Walls pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault in June 2010 and was sentenced to 10 months in the Travis County Jail, according to court records.
