Sure, slap a new coat of paint on. But, it's still a creaky, clapped-out, 21 year old, short bus. I had heard that they'll run the 1600's until they self-destruct - which may not be long for some of them.
Ah, the 51 line; the true test of an extra board driver who's never had the run before. Carpeting? Wow, before my time driving them.
What annoyed me the most? The completely silent turn signals (no click noise) with dim little dash indicator lights. So easy to drive for miles with the 4-way's left on! (Usually until another bus pointed it out to me with hand gestures!)
