A new set of reports by the Sightline Institute concludes that
despite Portland’s reputation as a “transit powerhouse,” Seattle
commuters actually use transit significantly more often than Portland
commuters, including not just people who live and work inside city
limits but people who live outside the city and commute here.
Overall,
21 percent of commuters who work in Seattle (regardless of where they
live) commute by transit, compared to 12 percent in Portland.

Must be a relative of Eriks, at any rate, Erik would agree, but heres the best comment left IMO:
"Seattle's transit system is mostly buses, whereas Portland has many more light rail lines.
This just shows that if you want to get the most people possible to use transit, invest your dollars in buses -- not rail. If the $2.6 billion wasted on Link light rail had been spent on improving the bus system instead, Seattle would have many thousands more people using transit today than we do.
As just one example, RapidRide A has increased ridership on that route by 40% in just the past year. That RapidRide route cost somewhere around $35 million. For $2.6 billion, we could have built around 75 RapidRide routes, increasing ridership signifcantly on many of the major bus routes in our area.
But no. We wasted $2.6 billion on one little light rail line that averages only around 24,000 boardings per weekday. What a tragically stupid waste of tax dollars. Particularly when Seattle's transit ridership compared to Portland's proves that a widespread bus system attracts a much higher percentage of commuters than a few stupidly expensive light rail lines."
I wonder if Adron saw this, he hasnt really realized how much TriMet sucks compared to up here.
Look from outside the bubble Portlanders, the Emperor of Rail HAS NO CLOTHES!
