And More of the Semi-Obscure September Cuts

This isn't so much things that were hidden as much as things that were stated but the implications weren't made clear. I'll just make a shortlist of it all.

-Line 8 will not have a transfer point with line 6. Durham street is around three or four blocks ahead of MLK. Not far, but not a transfer point, which seems just stupid to me. Why not run it to MLK and then turn it around up there? It's better than an acute angle turn into three small streets.

+Line 9 will essentially be doing as good of a job as the MAX lines downtown, traversing the full length in eight minutes with stops along 6th at Mill, Clay, Main, Alder, Burnside, Flanders and Union Station, and along 5th at Union Station, Davis, Ankeny, Stark, Taylor, Columbia, Harrison, Broadway and at Sheridan and 3rd (farther south than the MAX by two stops!). The MAX lines have better frequency with the same amount of stations, but takes twelve minutes to traverse the whole mall. With Free Rail Zone being cut downtown, line 9 is as viable as the MAX lines in that situation, with line 17 being another good, mostly parallel duplicate. Even line 8 is pretty viable; it goes along the whole south corridor and as far north as NW Everett, serving the same stops as the 9 and 17 along the mall. Long story short, if you can catch a 8, 9 or 17 before a MAX and you're staying downtown, go for it.

+Hey, EngineerScotty put my article on PortlandTransport! How about that!

+Sunday service on the Everett/Glisan couplet and NW 21st Avenue has been restored, however;
-With line 77 taking over that section, the segment will retain its 30-minute frequency on weekdays as opposed to every 20 minutes. It will also no longer go downtown, but instead into the Eastside of town.

-A schedule layout bug for line 67. There is a whole segment in the Saturday schedule for Beaverton TC, yet none of the trips stop there, as is reflected in the schedule which is simply a smattering of dashes. Why does this bug me so intensely?

So, it's not much; just some addendum. But the more the people know, the better!

EDIT: EVEN MORE ADDENDUM

+Weekend service on the Broadway/Concordia corridor along line 17 will be bumped up from every 40 minutes to every 32-35.
-However, TriMet will be cutting off a section from frequent service. Service between Tigard and King City, formerly 17-20 minutes with TriMet, will now be every 33 minutes, 7 days a week (although rush hour service will still be at the same levels of line 94 and then some, but the 12 will not serve that area any longer). It also, as stated, loses off-peak service to Portland without a transfer.

Cameron, you can always ask Bob R or Engineer Scotty if you want to do a guest post at P-Transport
