Is the CRC FINALLY dead?

Federal spending bill protects Southwest Washington priorities, withholds funding from troubled CRC project” - Congresswoman Jaime Herrera Beutler

This announcement, released this afternoon, effectively kills the Oregon Only CRC Light Rail Tolling project.

“The CRC continues to be plagued with design and financing flaws and does not qualify for federal funding. This bill preserves the funding qualifications standards for federal projects, and the CRC does not meet those standards. I’ll continue to advocate for a better I-5 bridge replacement project that actually meets the requirements and has the support of our community.”

Wherever you got this from is anti-transit as "CRC Light Rail Tolling project" doesn't make any sense. The tolling is not on the light rail, and the name is intended to obscure the big part of the plan which is to build a large new highway bridge and stretch of freeway.

Look, it's Oregon's intransigence on this project that killed. The blame is squarely on Kitzhaber and his cronies
