The transit 'big lie'

Unmasking The Big Lie

Politicians, "planners", and their apologists routinely claim that light rail and streetcars are necessary components of a "balanced transit system", which is the only answer to traffic congestion. It's an admittedly creative way to reach into your grandchildrens' wallets, and superficially, it even seems sort of logical. But as it happens, it's untrue.

Well, as long as an area increases in people, it shouldn't be surprising that traffic congestion gets worse.

Not to mention having drivers not have to pay for most parking, pollution clean up, oil defense or other things.

Would you rather have an area that's dead and has little traffic, or a nice area to go to that has congestion?
