From trimet. I was shocked and saddened to hear of the death of Bre White, one of our Merlo operators. I did not have the pleasure of meeting Bre, but learned that she joined TriMet in 2018. Her riders have said, "She goes above and beyond the call of duty… She was helpful and kind…. She was committed to passenger service and safety." I want to sincerely thank Bre for her service to our community and wish her family and loved ones peace as they work through this tragedy. She was a valued bus operator and will be missed by her coworkers and the entire TriMet team. We have a grief counselor at Merlo garage to assist those colleagues closest to her as they try to make sense of this terrible news. My heart breaks for all Bre's family and friends as they remember her life and mourn her passing. Sam
Now the truth, no way for me to verify this ———— she called in sick on the 4th and 5th and was being suspended for 6 days starting on the 10th
unsatisfactory conduct using a cell phone while in the operator's seat, failing to wear face covering, failing to wear a seatbelt and opening the bus from the operator door
