One reason that TriMet eventually chose the Sunset (Robertson) Tunnel alignment for the Blue Line over the surface alignment was that the trains to Hillsboro could continue to run even if snow dusted Sylvan. No one thought at the time that in extreme heat the tunnel might be the only operable part of the rail network. It's a pity that it has but one station.
