The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority on Thursday released a list of nearly 6,400 names, many of whom are receiving pensions as a vestige of a program that allowed employees to start collecting pensions after 23 years of service, no matter their age. That long-criticized system has since been abolished and replaced by a program that allows employees to retire with a pension at age 55 with 25 years of service. (trimess sets you free at 58)

(TRIMET is a disgrace, Trimet drivers are actually in danger on the job while grocery clerks work in a safe environment. Of course trimet executives all retire with fat pensions, workers get squat and now they don't even want to pay for the promised health care )
, WinCo has a reputation for doing right by employees. It provides health benefits to all staffers who work at least 24 hours per week. The company also has a pension, with employees getting an amount equal to 20% of their annual salary put in a plan that’s paid for by WinCo; a company spokesperson told the Idaho Statesman that more than 400 nonexecutive workers (cashiers, produce clerks, and such) currently have pensions worth over $1 million apiece.

A: Effective Sunday, September 1, we are adjusting schedules, routes and/or stops on 11 bus lines and adding one new bus line. The current budget includes $2.1 million for minor service improvements on a handful of busy lines, which will help relieve overcrowding and improve schedule reliability. Some of the improvements include assigning two bus bays at Sunset TC in order to maximize customer access to bus shelters and give Line 48 operators better access to restrooms. The new bus line, Line 93 will run between Sherwood and the Tigard Transit Center, and will serve all stops and run weekdays and weekends. Meanwhile, Line 94 will no longer serve Tigard Transit Center and will no longer run weekends. For complete details on all changes to routes and schedules, watch for an Operator Notice that will be distributed in the coming weeks.

Organization Development and Human Resources Business Partnering is offering a “Respectful Workplace Training –Your Responsibilities and Rights” class. The class is being held Tuesday, September 10, from 9:00–11:00am, at Holladay Street – Conference Room 1 (2nd floor). This workshop will discuss the importance of respectful workplace conduct. It will address your legal and practical rights and responsibilities in demonstrating and supporting respectful workplace behavior – including TriMet’s expectations, policies and employment laws. GOVERNOR’S OFFICE CLARIFIES BOARD APPOINTEE’S DISTRICT

Governor John Kitzhaber appointed Joe Esmonde to the TriMet Board of Directors in June of this year to replace Tiffany Sweitzer, whose term ended July 1. Due to a clerical error, Esmonde, who resides in District 2, was incorrectly appointed to District 3 as the replacement for Steve Clark. This error has been corrected and Esmonde now represents District 2. The Governor’s office consulted with the Secretary of the Senate and Rules Committee staff and confirmed the appointment stands. However, Esmonde’s votes on board items will be invalidated but do not affect the actions taken by TriMet’s Board as no decision passed with a margin of just one vote. This is another one of my first movies from 7 years ago and I was talking about riding the MAX, its never any fun in reality and in this video I describe the hazards of riding that light rail. It also has at the end of this video a great interview with a Trimet rider and how much hassle it is to ride public transit. Public transit sucks, period. Until they can make it frequent and reliable they will never be able to compete with the private automobile. The truth is transit exists to enrich the executive class running it. The riders and employees are just there as a necessary evil

This is from 2007, six years ago now and it was one of my first videos. I portrayed myself as a somewhat outrageous character in those first videos. That characterization seems to have stuck with me long after I stopped being that character. The ticket machines have been a joke year after year after year. Trimet executives,as they always do, just huffed and puffed and said all th e right words never followed by actual action, which is what they do there. They talk a good talk and its all BS.

Trimet illegally seizes the wages of its employees then it fights the court order to give it back. I don't understand how anybody could be 'loyal' to that place. It's just one lie after another that comes from these executive scum running that place

The old Portland transit mall was quite a sight. Never had seen anything quite like that. With all the buses streaming through there doing the in and out dance. I used to hate driving through there but it was very convenient for riders. Every bus stopped at every other block. Now you have to walk 4 or more blocks to pick up your bus. I think the transit mall is deader now, like the life has been stripped away when they put in that freaking light rail. I have never been able to find video footage of the mall during rush hours. I took these pictures from the drivers seat as I drove down one day. This was just before the video became so easy to use. Trimet was a saner place back then. The light rail not only destroyed bus service, it pretty much destroyed Trimet. What people will do for money is insane

Developer multi millionaire Sweitzer is off the board so she is dead as far as Trimet is concerned.
She was one of the directors who gave Fred Hasen that ridiculous pension of $16k/mo. Fred in turn has made her another 'thinker in residence'. Cronyism at Trimet is disgusting.
In many ways she was a good representation of what is wrong with Trimet.
Catering to the needs of developers Trimet has become less and less a transit agency. Good riddance.
