Did you know the Corvalis Transit system is Free?

I sure didn't

CRIME TRAIN NEWS

Trimet poor customer service policies

They did it again! Only this time, on my way to work! I'm waiting on the 57, and when it finally does arrive at my stop, the operator had DROP OFFS ONLY displayed on the overhead. Dropping off 2 passengers, I can't get on! I'm on my way to work. I'm wearing a Trimet sleeveless vest too. This is in Cornelius, I work at Ruby! Now, I will be quite tardy to clock in! The next bus that arrived seemed more crowded than the one that passed me up, yet I was able to squeeze in, pissed off because its leader didn't feel like it. The operator of the bus I was able to get on told me they are not supposed to do that. My question is....if I'm leaving my home 2 1/2 hours before clock in time, why or how am I to know that I need to leave earlier in case some bus operator is going to use the DROP OFFS ONLY on their overhead?

C-TRAN board votes to end Trimet contract

Nobody can figure out why they signed that ridiculous contract in the first place. A contract with no end date and a $5 million dollar penalty if either side decides to break it?

As I've been saying over and over  Trimet is run by Conniving tricksters, and that is one thing they excel at. Mcfarlane (the worst GM in history) said he has no intention of letting C-Tran out of that contract. As a business man why should he? He conned them fair and square. Just like they did with our union contract. If he had any ethics he should obviously end that one sided contract.

Shelly Lomax to retire?

That's the rumor anyway. I wonder how big her pension is gonna be. Explains her recent pay bumps, must have been to pad her retirement, cause that's how they roll.

It's amazes me that people that hurt other people end up with big fat pensions. I guess that's the way of the world. The more evil you are the more money you make.

BTW, notice how Trimet management uses a PERS style calculation of their pension benefits. It's all about them folks

Don't cannibilize the buses

The Trimet way

Last night my supervisor want us to pull all the fare boxes. We normally skip the trippers just to keep the line moving. So the line went from Center Street all the way down to Powell Boulevard last night. Shelly Lomax saw the line and called the director of maintenance at home. Tonight the garage manger told me to go back to the old way. Some operators were waiting in line for 50 minutes. It went on from 6 to 8:30 last night. I guess they should watch what they wish for. Lol

Road supervisors were directing buses to go down center street side by side from 17th

Not easy being a Trimet bus driver

I wonder if bus drivers are aware of the volume of tweets by riders complaining about bus drivers. The company on one side and a public who loves to bitch about you forget it. Today's environment this job is a huge hassle. I remember when it was a kick ass blue collar job.(the 80's it was a great job)  I wouldn't do this job today

Trimet Facebook

If you enjoy Trimet related material and not are not reading the Trimet Facebook feed you are really missing out. The Trimet content is pure propaganda of course but some of discussions are REALLY entertaining.
Today they put up a post that actually made me laugh!

TRIMET/ATU757 PLAYING MIND GAMES WITH EMPLOYEES

Mind games: a largely conscious struggle for psychological one-upmanship, often employing passive–aggressive behavior to specifically demoralize or empower the thinking subject, making the aggressor look superior; also referred to as "power games".[1]

I've gotten plenty of feedback from employees that the union representatives they voted  into office won't discuss the contract. They are demanding that everyone wait two weeks!
This is definitely some sort of mind game

Rail off the table for Powell/Division

An advisory committee of leaders from Portland, Gresham and East Multnomah County voted Monday to move forward with a bus-only study of high capacity transit on the Powell-Division corridor, dropping streetcar and light rail as an option for further consideration.

The unanimous vote came as committee members said they were focused more on a project that could be built soon and require substantially less private property acquisition and roadway impacts than a rail project.

Trimet workers have been robbed

Although the biased mainstream refuses to cover the story, Trimet retirement pensions are pathetic compared to other public sector workers in Oregon.

The reason for that was Trimet workers agreed to lower pensions in exchange for the better than PERS health benefits.

ATU757 didn't see Mcfarlane and his gang of thugs coming at them. Mcfarlane takes over and takes to the podium with his "a union contract that is slowly strangling us" bullshit. The media not once explained that those benefits were provided in lieu of a smaller pension.

In one swoop Trimet workers have lost all the cumulative bargaining of all the years before

Now the Trimet retirees of the last 10 years are expected to keep getting that lousy pension but have to add all the standard medical expenses.

Make no mistake, Trimet employees were robbed and the people that robbed them are no better than thieves

PERS retirees are making $50-100k in their retirement years by taking advantage of the PERS work rules. A 30 Trimet union employee high pension would be about $27,000 or about 1/2 what a PERS employee is receiving.

We've been robbed, I can't wait to see what 'deal' our masters have gotten for us'

One of the dumbest ideas ever leaves town

That was the stupid 'talking bus' . The FTA handed Trimet $400,000 to blow on this stupidity. I would love to see how Trimet spent that $400,000. There is always millions and millions available to be spent on the dumbest things, for idiotic construction projects and 'talking bus' programs.  But when it comes to providing people that do the real work with decent benefits, NO NO there is no money to be found for that. Too bad the public is too stupid to see they are being conned constantly by our lying, thieving, cheating government officials

Latest Trimet propaganda

You gotta hand it to the folks at Trimet. They sure do work hard attempting to manufacture consent for their agenda. Weather its running silly contests or idiotic events like 'bringing in the new train' Trimet has something each and every day for the public to consume.

Watching the Trimet advertising department is like watching a commercial for the latest cell phone.

Joe Rose proves once again he is part of the mainstream media and supports the anti union agenda

Me and Joe have been friends for quite a few years now. And Joe has done quite a few excellent Trimet stories worthy of respect. But when it comes to the issues involving the transit union it becomes completely clear that he supports the Oregonian anti union agenda.

Let's take a look at his CURRENT STORY on the so called 'contract deal'.

Won't see this around here

Weird TriMet service alerts

NOTE: Many of these alerts were written by dispatchers who are not expected to be language experts, may not have time to proofread, and make mistakes like all humans.  They may have many other tasks in progress at the moment, such as dealing with buses that are already stuck due to the blockage or situations elsewhere.  While the errors probably should be forgiven, they can cause confusion or problems for those who try to follow them.
