If you missed the union meeting...

The 1000+ Trimet union employees that don't go to these meetings finally get to see what is going on inside the meetings. Chris Day lost the battle but he won the war on transparency.
There have been two major decisions, both involving Ellen Fox of all people, that have had a huge impact on union members.

In the first preferring of charges against Ellen Fox it was established that a union member has the right to slander other union members. The union will play no role in stopping such behavior.

In the latest case involving Ellen Fox, it has been established that private union business is no longer to be considered private as unions are powerless to penalize union members who disclose said business.

It's about time in my opinion. Hardly anybody attends these union meetings, but now in light of recent developments what was once 'confidential' material regarding actions of individual union members can now be brought into the public sphere.

Here are the latest goings on at our union.
