IT'S REALLY SOMETHING WHEN A BUNCH OF HOBBYISTS REACT FASTER THAN A MULTI MILLION DOLLAR AGENCY

Max Faqs alert-note the time 4:41pm

THIS IS TRIMET'S EMAIL:
riMet subscriptions@trimet.org via service.govdelivery.com

6:51 PM (1 hour ago)

to me

With temperatures above 100 degrees, MAX trains are now limited to a maximum of 35 mph. Additionally, there is an issue with a signal on the Steel Bridge. MAX Green and Yellow lines trains are only traveling on the east side of the Willamette River, running between Expo Center and Rose Quarter and then out to Clackamas Town Center. To reach the east side, take Blue or Red line trains or use regular bus service or a shuttle bus between Union Station and the Rose Quarter. Expect significant delays through at least 8:30 p.m.

AND HERE IS TRIMET'S TWEET

The profound being the 15 re-tweets of the ALMOST TWO HOURS LATER alert by Trimet from the original MAX FAQS alert. People don't have a clue about the reality of TRIMET.

Oh, but Al, the non-union folks can't be bothered to concern themselves with how the system is or is not running except between the hours of 8:30am and 3:00pm monday through friday (excluding holidays). I mean, if something really really big happens, i'm sure they'd be right on it.

Where are the $300k "Trimet girls?" Last I was aware, they're the only ones who can "officially" put out service alerts, maybe the social media coordinator too, so it's not even the place for operators, retirees, or passengers to be the ones doing this, let alone beating the official statements to the punch by hours (for FREE).
