Fatal Pedestrian Accidents Statistics
In 2009, 4,092 pedestrians were killed by motor vehicles in the United States. Of them, 56 were struck and killed by buses, mostly while crossing an intersection, or walking in a roadway.
According to NHTSA data, 343 were killed during the morning hours between 6 am and 9 am.
