PORTLAND STREETCAR CONTINUES GETTING HUGE SUBSIDY FROM TRIMET
$300,000 - Reduce TriMet contribution to the Portland Streetcar
(chump change reductions)
The Streetcar gets a $6 million annual subsidy from TriMet.
Cutting $300,000 is nothing. TriMet needs to cut the entire subsidy. THE STREETCAR IS NOT A TRIMET FACILITY OR OPERATION.
If TriMet is obligated to fund the streetcar, the City of Portland is obligated to fund bus routes. I don't see a similar line item in Portland's budget...
