An interesting police sting occurred in Beaverton Transit
Center yesterday.
A man had his car stolen from the Beaverton area. The thief
contacted the owner and demanded a payment of $500 for the safe return of the
car.
The owner of the car did what anybody with any brains
would, he contacted the police.
The police had the man go through with the deal. The exchange was to take place at the
Beaverton Transit Center. (Brilliant)
The police had TriMet bring in an old bus. The bus was
parked at BTC and left dark as the exchange was to be done at night.
Nobody noticed a bus parked in BTC of course, but this
bus was full of cops.
The carnapper came to BTC to do the trade, the bus door
opened, all the cops poured out and arrested the brilliant car thief!
TRUE STORY!

Al, You could become an embedded transit police reporter in your spare time....maybe start your own tv show like that dude, Dog the Bounty Hunter!
And it was my bus that they used for the sting operation.
Haha. Al the transit man!

Maybe I can pitch it to them!

I'm gonna go on down to Australia and do it BILL!
Things you can't do with a MAX train...
Buses - not just for public transit; but also for public safety. What other mode of transport provides shelter after fires and other disasters, and help transport police officers to crime scenes?
