Remember when Neil Mcfarlane gave that sicking speech to the Portland city club and started his speech with "the tale of two trimets'?
He then went on to praise his absolutely wonderful majestic capital projects department. On on the other hand went on a viscous attack against the union employees 'who are slowly strangling Trimet.' It was quite a sicking attack against his union workforce.
And it was a bunch of boloney, which is what most of the stuff that comes out of the Trimet General managers office is.
But here is the real story of the Two Trimet's.
One is a transit show like no other in downtown Portland. Trains and buses going everywhere it seems.
And then there is the Trimet that serves the other places besides Portland;
On one of her marathon bus commutes, DiJonnette Montgomery-Thompson watched a mother with three small children in tow get kicked off a bus and left on the side of the road because their transfers expired before they reached their destination. They had no more money to pay another fare.
It’s a problem that Montgomery-Thompson, a 39-year-old student getting a degree in social work, can run into when she and her daughter string together errands on the bus to buy school shoes, fill a prescription, or hit the library.

They should not be getting kicked off if their transfers were valid on boarding
