That is apparently what outsiders call the US city of Portland, Oregon.
According to a recent travel review in The Age, the locals have an unofficial motto of their own - Keep Portland Weird.
So what is so weird about Portland? For starters, the city has a vegan strip club - the Casa Diablo - where the girls can only remove non-animal-based clothing.
Portland claims to have the highest number of strip clubs per capita in the US.
But Portland also has trams, lots of them, and former premier Mike Rann fell head over heels with them on one of his many, entirely justified, overseas trips.
He invited Fred Hansen, the boss of Trimet, Portland's public transport network, to Adelaide as a Thinker in Residence.

Fred's final report was called "All On Board - growing vibrant communities through transport".
If you thought this was all about making your bus run on time, you would be wrong.
