Interesting fare evasion Manual from Denver RTD

The fine is $100, still too high in my opinion.

That's a very old manual and some of the "technical" have changed.
But...
Yes, the fines can be as much as $100.
Why do you feel that's too high?
Jo Tax Payer supports close to 80% of the total budget.
Millions of tax payers pay for 80% of the fare for a couple of hundred thousand riders each year.
$100 is too cheap in my opinion.

Keep in mind that the transit authority (the fare inspectors) have the freedom to use discretion whether the situation warrants a warning or a fine.

Personally I find the fines should be commensurate with parking fines.

There are some very poor people out there some really have problems paying fares, I don't know about
Denver but there is no 'economically disadvantaged' pass at trimet
