Responding to growing concerns about how TriMet is being run, Oregon lawmakers have called on Secretary of State Kate Brown to conduct an unprecedented "emergency" audit of operations and finances at the state's largest public transit.
Bedeviled by service cuts, union fights and red ink, as well as stories of sleepy drivers and managers receiving secret raises even as the agency hit riders with historic fare hikes, TriMet is overdue for a top-to-bottom outside review, said Rep. Chris Gorsek, D-Troutdale.
