THE FALL OF TRIMET

As we have all seen the "government" is no longer there to help any of us. It's there solely to steal our money via taxes and redistribute that wealth to various people, a small portion goes to actual people that needs jobs, TriMet bus drivers are one example. Most of the money that TriMet spends goes to capital projects which is how the elites funnel your taxes into their pockets.

Now let me say that I spent half my working life as a bus driver, that's 20 years out of my 40 years in the labor market. Therefore I consider myself knowledgeable about this particular profession and the people that are doing the actual work, the bus drivers. Having that knowledge I know that TriMet has  discarded its own CODE and now allows bus drivers to make individual judgements about who can and who cannot ride the buses.  This has to be the absolute WORST policy decision of all time! I happen to know for a fact that there are many people involved in this profession that actually "hate" people and enjoy inflicting pain on citizens. They are not that much different from police, most of whom take complete joy in brutalizing citizens and have immunity for all their actions.

That said most of us know that TriMet has fallen from one of the most progressive transit agencies in the USA (fareless square, short hopper ticket, etc) to one of the most regressive agencies in the country.

Not only have their neoliberal policies destroyed what was once a model agency but its management allowed this "operator shortage" to happen. Everybody with a brain and IQ  over 85 knows the so called "labor shortage" was intentionally created by the gang of criminals that make up the WORLD ECONOMIC FORUM . These people  used covid as the excuse to destabilize our world at the same time making the rich obscenely rich to levels never seen before in history.

So what we see today is a transit agency that no longer serves the people that need transit, all we have now is a wealth redistribution crime syndicate. It doesn't have to be this way, obviously TriMet, along with all the other failed transit systems, could raise up the bus driver pay to levels that may attract better people (or may not, at least it would fairly compensate people brave enough to do this kind of work) . But that would require a starting wage of around $33 an hour ($68,640/year) and a top wage of around $40/hour ($83,200/year). There is absolutely no discussion of making this happen anywhere in the public transportation industrial complex. It's interesting because the executive management is constantly finding ways to increase their salary to "retain talent" but for some reason bus drivers are not considered "talent". Until we the people can unshackle ourselves from the sociopathic class running our lives we will never end the abuse we suffer.
