The Boneyard at Merlo

My hat is off to all the mechanics at the 3 garages
who keep the dinosaurs running by scrapping parts off the wrecked buses.

That is just sad... I'm surprised this story hasn't made The Oregonian - that while TriMet freely spends and spends for new light rail lines, they have to scrap old buses just to keep the running ones running.

I wonder if TriMet still has any 500/600 series buses around for scrap...

TriMet has not been "freely spend(ing) and spend(ing) for new light rail lines". The money for those have come from outside sources (including increases in the payroll tax), and there is no guarantee that those sources would be willing to have the money spent on things like new buses instead, which do little to improve service.

This was the bus I was driving when a guy in a ford pick up drilled me after running a red. 5 of us went to the hospital though none were serious.
