It takes 18 years of full time seniority to get an am straight at merlo.
The Reed group is screwing drivers left and right, the company allows the screw ups and takes no responsibility.
Willie Moore and Hazel Lavalee both got the hell out of here. (retired)
If you get mail from a manager and don't quite understand what they are up to call your union rep.
Ron Heinzman helped in an arbitration hearing and the union rep was impressed.
The new SIP policy is BULLSHIT.
If you get spit on make sure you call dispatch and say its an assault and you want the police. You can go get tested for various diseases if you want.
The picnic is coming up, lots of prizes.
Don't let the extra board work you to death.
Reed group is fucking people over.
Drivers are dying.
Nobody is bothering to tell any Center St employees about what the hell will be happening to the parking lot.
Maintenance employees better show up on time for the sign up.
If your using sick time make sure you check into FEMLA/OFLA to protect your rights from the company that preaches safety but then fires you if you don't come to work because your sick.
Somebody who is working here is a theif and stealing stuff from mechanics tool boxes.
Trimet has phased out the bus cleaner program and the "bobble heads" on the board of directors don't have a clue.
Trimet managers say "vinyl seats" will solve the problem, but doesn't bother to address the current problem.
It's very sad to lose Misty (supervisor)
7 new grievances for supervisors/station agents etc.
Still battling the fare inspection letter of understanding from 2008.
All the laid off road supervisors have been rehired.
Schedule and service planning staff is still laid off however and we are understaffed at customer service.
If you get hurt on the job FILE A WORK COMP CLAIM! Contact the union office with the name of your attorney or call the office if you need a referral.
A 'yard service supervisor' has been hired for Powell maintenance. How does that help the front line worker? Who knows. It continues the Trimet practice of "if there is an issue, throw a manager at the problem' model.
Two pre-filings in LRV repair, six step 2 hearings, two were resolved and 4 will go to step three.
There were four step 3 hearings, 2 were resolved and two will go on to step 4. (light rail repair division)
Trimet is responsible for providing a current copy of our contract to each person who requests it, they don't bother to do it.
This year the managment decided to save money by not allowing drivers to use air conditioned buses when possible but the administration building is so cold that people have to wear winter coats!
Members have been turning in other members for cell phone use (pathetic).
If they are ignoring your repair requests contact the union rep to investigate.

Drivers are falling off like flies here too.
Do you guys not have "Shop Stewards"?
Are there not regular "Operations Bulletins" that explain whats going on around the system, like base projects and the sort?
If i saw a fellow driver using a cell WHILE driving an in-service vehicle (while in motion), I consider that a safety concern and you need to say something. Pathetic or not, all we need is the media to see it and then they make it look like we all use our phones. If your fellow member is using a cell phone, thats their stupidity and it needs to be squashed. Cell phone use at a layover, at the base, on breaks, in your own vehicle etc etc do not count.
NO NO NO CHAD!
You don't rat another driver!
Talk to the driver if you want but under no condition should you rat a fellow driver!
Report him to the union if your gonna report him!
Al, If my driver is talking on a cell phone WHILE driving my bus, he busted, sorry. Your not putting my safety at risk, and the others on that bus. The rules have been advertised, printed and otherwise made very clear, if you still are stupid enough to use your phone, whats so damn important on your phone while driving anyways, You need a stern talking to. For cell phone use, im sorry Al, i disagree, theres just NO excuse. Whatever is going on can wait, if its a family emergency, call in to the coordinator and get relived to go home.
I just cant digest you think its ok for drivers you are clearly breaking the law, and TriMet Safety rules to get away with it. Trust me, theres a lot of other crap i see go on that I look away on. For the record, to date I haven't caught any cell phone use, maybe we just dont do it like your fellow operators do.
The golden rule"
NEVER RAT A FELLOW DRIVER!
This is what makes police so tight, they never rat each other.
I respect them for that. You have to have a code to live by.
