I'm not surprised something like this happened where it did. Crossing or driving on that transit mall is dangerous in itself. Remember just last June (somewhere around then) a bus was hit by a max train crossing 6th just a block down on jefferson? What i'm really surprised by is that trimet essentially said it wasn't the bus driver's fault when they noted that the bus had the green light, not the idiot in the SUV.
