WARNING! WARNING! MANAGMENT INSANITY CONTINUES AT TRIMET

The chains will stay on for at least the next 24 hours, the agency says. “It’s just as difficult to remove the chains,” said spokeswoman Mary Fetsch. “With the weather forecast the way it is, we’d have to re-chain them later. It’s just a difficult endeavor in the field. We have to be ready for the next storm.”

MARY MIGHT HAVE HAD A LITTLE LAMB BUT SHE NEVER ENDURED THE TORTURE OF DRIVING A BUS ON PAVEMENT WITH CHAINS!

Stupid weather people blew another snow forecast. They say "better to err on the side of caution". How about getting an accurate forecast for once? Ridiculous!

I want to be a weather forecaster. I want to fuck everything up as much as possible, never be right and still have a job, where can I apply.

I like Joe's article that had we passed that ballot measure a year ago, TriMet would have purchased new buses with the Insta-Chains...

Except...

The new buses would have been low-floor buses...

And Insta-Chains don't work on low-floor buses. Which is why the Insta-Chains are only installed on the 2100 series buses.

Erik, you can specify that drop chains be developed to function on a new bus order. I'm sure that would have been in the spec on the order. The bus manufacturers all know that drop chains are important for new low floor buses. We certainly were talking about doing that when planning for the possibility of ordering those buses.
