If Trimet spent half as much time, energy, and money on employee wellness and improving the bus fleet (older buses much harder on drivers as well as riders) as it does on expanding the Rail Empire and begrudging union benefits (re:Scott Walker), it's budget woes would disappear. Better fare collection and revenue seems easily attainable as well. Transit agencies like Toronto get over 65% of their budgets from fares ,where here it's 24%. Much room for improvement!
